We are a non-profit organization that is dedicated to connecting local music to a larger community in and around the North Shore via our venue Moon Base One and our yearly Music Festival, Moon over Salem. 

Moon Base One opened its doors on February 7th, 2025 to great acclaim, bringing together people of all walks of life, sharing in a day of musical performances. Moon Base One is the only all-ages sober venue in the Greater Boston area, giving young folks a safe and communal space to hang out, meet new people and get involved with music. 

Being a sober venue one of the issues we face currently is we can’t generate income via drinks like many venues do to stay afloat. This is a huge barrier to A) Making sure bands, artists and our staff get paid in a meaningful way B) Making sure we have enough money at the end of the month to pay rent and bills.

This is where you can come in!
By making a donation or becoming a sponsor of our space, you can directly impact the space's longevity and increase monetary accessibility to our venue, keeping local independent music alive and well in Salem. 

Right now, we charge $150 for the use of our space. This comes out of ticket sales, directly impacting how much we can pay out to bands at the end of the show. $100 of that goes to our rent, which, starting in May, will increase to $1200.he rest goes to paying our staff working the show. 

  • Donating as little as $12 a month- the cost of two Starbucks coffees- will help us pay rent and keep the lights on at the venue. Anything you have to give will help us in the most meaningful ways. If you want to donate time or supplies please reach out to us at Admin@moon-ns.org

  • We have 100’s of people show up to watch and play music at our venue every month. Our shows typically end at either 6pm or 10pm depending on the day of the week. Local restaurants and shops are where you come in! We want to send people your way 

    Every month, hundreds of people come to Moon Base One, either to perform or just to watch. This is a great opportunity for partnerships with local businesses! Our mission of connecting music with the community doesn’t stop at shows, we want to stimulate the local Salem economy the best we can.   • Last year, Moon Over Salem brought over 500 people to downtown Salem, MA. Our festival had a variety of accolades that we are very proud of:

    • 64% of artists identified as women or non-binary

    • 52% of artists were from the greater Northshore area

    • $3,000 raised for our Rising Artists Scholarship

    This year will be bigger than ever with an extra day of music and additional stages across the city of Salem!
